The real, nito vine is collected and cleaned before being handwoven into a metal mesh to recreate the natural, sporadic pattern of the vine as it grows around tree trunks. This outer diffuser is not only an attractive feature, but strong enough to serve as a protective barrier for the banana paper, inner diffuser. Banana fiber paper is created from banana trees that are cut down and would otherwise become waste.
